Mayan Adventure

Today was the last day of classes before our second round of midterms this semester. I studied in the early afternoon and then decided to go home because I wanted to go out and have fun with the family before the REAL studying (10+hours/day) begins.

So, I told Katie that we were going to get in the car and head north and let the GPS decide what we were going to do. We were out of gas, so we had to stop in Draper at Costco to get some cheap gas and then we decided to go to a local Thai restaurant. On our way we passed the Mayan, which is a place like Rainforest Cafe but they have diving shows while you eat! We thought it was great, so we parked and went inside. It felt like the Indiana Jones ride inside and we had a great time. The unfortunate event of the night was that the waitress came by with some extra salsa and dumped it all over Katie. It was quite the cleanup but we got it taken care of. The upside was that they gave us the meal for free! Madelyn was sleeping when we got there, so you can imagine her shock to see native Mayan divers and rainforest foliage all around her. She got the saddest/cutest frown and started to whimper. This is a picture of us standing in front of the diving stage where the show took place.Notice the menacing stone face behind us--it's no wonder she was scared!
